Do you know what today is!??? It's TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY!!! Today's spotlight goes to *drumroll please* Roddy Thompson from Plano TX. Roddy is down about 50 pounds!! Read his story below.
What prompted you to start your transformation?
The thing that prompted my transformation was watching my son grow up, and I thought about how I wanted to be able to BE THERE to watch him grow up. I thought about doing active things with him that I wouldn’t have been able to being overweight. The other thing that prompted my transformation was being denied personal life insurance because of my height and weight especially because I’m so passionate about life insurance.
How did you do it?
In April of 2017 I began to try to lose weight on my own by just working out 6 days a week and trying to eat better which I wasn’t really sure what that meant. By June of 2017 I had lost 20 lbs, but by September my net weight loss was only 12 lbs. On 9/13/17, I started weight watchers, and I continued to work out 6 days a week. WW gave me the formula to learn how to make a lifestyle of eating healthier. I started WW at 350, and today I’m 304.
How do you plan to maintain?
I plan on being a lifetime weight watcher member because this program has truly transformed my life, and it has helped me to learn how to have a healthy relationship with food. I will also continue to regularly exercise.
What advice do you have for others starting day one of their own journey?
I would say to create your WHY’s for the reason that you want to lose weight because you’ll need it for when you want to give up. I would tell them that weight loss is a marathon not a sprint, and I would also tell them that the only way that you can lose this battle is to QUIT. The last thing that I would say is that weight loss is about 80% diet and about 20% exercise!
