Long time no hear! I am sooo sorry I have been super busy and haven't been giving you the updates on my race training like I should have been :( please don't be upset, but I do have ALL the tea for you about the race!!! So on July 4, 2018 I ran/walked the worlds LARGEST 10k right here in Atlanta. Where do I begin a sistah was TIRED!! First off lets start by where I went wrong in my training process....I WAS NOT consistent with my running. I got the "you've got into the race" email towards the end of march and created a whole game plan for training. I was going to run for the month of April just get my endurance up, in May I was going to run to get my time down and in the month of June I was going to run outside so I would be prepared to run outside especially with the heat down here in GA I needed to prep for that. Well none of that went as planned. I would run maybe 2-3 times per week abut 3-4 miles each run and that was on a treadmill. I would adjust the incline on the treadmill to simulate hills *epic fail*. As far as my diet was concerned I didn't make the best routine for that either. I got serious about my diet until about a week before the race WRONG!!! Long story short.....this was a really fun race with an AMAZING crowd. Yes I finished, not in the time I wanted to, but I will be on the search for another race maybe a 5k in the fall. Any recommendations in the Atlanta area?
